There is a total of around 20 in the team at TLL.. These are the main contacts who will be able to assist you on a day to day basis.
David Lucas - Partner
David has lived in the Southport area for over 35 years. He qualified in 1976 and has extensive experience in both practice and industry.
David’s areas of expertise include:
- Preparation of accounts of SMEs
- Preparation and Audit of Charity accounts
- Business acquisitions, disposals and exit routes
- Company formations and business strategy
Chris Lees - Partner
Chris gained an Economics degree at Manchester in 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1997. Chris manages a portfolio of predominantly small/medium sized owner managed businesses based around Lancashire / Merseyside and specialises in business start-ups; solicitors’ accounts rules; and pub companies. Chris has assisted a number of clients to obtain grant funding through Business Link and GME.
He is the Honorary Treasurer of Kirkham Grammar School “Old Kirkhamians’ Association”, Wrea Green Football Club and Wrea Green Cricket Club
Peter Buck - Partner
Peter joined the practice after gaining 5 years valuable experience with a “Big 4” practice in Preston, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996. He has vast experience of working with Owner Managed businesses as well as larger public companies and is a recognised specialist in the Charity and Social Enterprise sector. His breadth of experience has given him a sound commercial insight into business, which compliments well his careful attention to client needs. Peter lives in Southport with his wife and two young daughters.
Michael Faulkner – Tax Manager
Michael joined the firm in April 2017 to head up our Tax Department having worked previously at a large regional practice as a tax consultant.
Michael has over 18 years of tax experience and is looking forward to working with clients of TLL and advising them on saving tax where possible.
Michael is married with three boys and also Coaches at FC United Manchester.
Jenny Ashcroft – Accounts and Office Manager
Jenny joined the firm in January 2019 as our Accounts and Practice Manager, and as such is a primary contact for our client base. Jenny became ACCA qualified in 2015, having previously worked for a medium-sized firm of accountants in Preston. Local girl Jenny lives in Hesketh Bank with her Partner and miniature labradoodle Millie; and is fast emerging as Sue Jackson’s main baking rival in the office!
Mike Taylor - Audit / Accounts Manager
Mike qualified as an Accountant over 10 years ago and has worked at TLL since 2010.
Managing a portfolio of Audit and Accounts work in a variety of sectors as well as completing ad hoc projects keeps Mike busy during the working week.
Chris Brown - Audit / Accounts Manager
Chris joined the firm in September 2016 to assist the Partners with their portfolio of charities and larger limited company clients.
Chris has some twenty years of experience in various sizes of private practice, and is qualified in both accountancy (FCCA) and taxation (ATT).
Chris lives on the outskirts of Blackburn with his partner and young daughter and is a keen supporter of Blackburn Rovers FC.
Ian Hargreaves - Tax Senior
Ian is the firm’s personal tax specialist. Outside of the office, Ian’s main interests are fishing, Burnley FC, and the music of iconic Manchester bands The Fall and Joy Division.
Sue Jackson - VAT Manager
Sue is our VAT specialist and as such has a lot of contact with our client base. Sue likes to keep herself fit by playing tennis, cycling and working out at the gym. Sue is the office “baker” and keeps the team happy with a steady supply of cakes and treats
